Joining a Lodging Management Program school is a great way for local businesses to show that they care about thier community and the future of lodging. Employers get a chance to work with young people who really want to learn the business. In turn, employers become role models for students as they embark on a professional hospitality career. Here, then, are the major roles and responsibilities for Lodging Management Program employers and mentors.
For employers and businesses that want to get involved and hire on Lodging Management students, you can recieve a tax deductable credit of 10%, and up to $2,000.00. If you would like more information on this opportunity, please contact Jillian Ely, Education Coordinator, by phone at (501) 376-2323 or at

An LMP mentor needs to:
- Provide consistent, concrete, and caring support and guidance
- Set high expectations for the students
- Keep in touch with students' teacher/program coordinator to arrange classroom visits
- Help prepare the teacher/students for competitions through practices and hands-on activities that will enhance the performance of the students and provide further knowledge outside of the classroom and curriculum.
